monday meet and greet, making preparations

Hello!  I'm looking forward to tackling my ever growing to do list this week.  Work is busy, busy, new projects are on the boards, new endeavors are growing and the holidays are fast approaching!!! I have been brainstorming ideas for homemade holiday cards, gift wrapping, and the gifts themselves for this season.  There is something so special and warm about a thoughtful, unique homemade gift.  Read a tasteful homemade gift, hence my careful brainstorming and planning.  Believe me, I could have several posts worth of stories of homemade gifts gone bad in which a loved one or myself has been the lucky recipient.  Maybe a seasonal upcoming blog series? :)
I love this photo above.  How nostalgic and clever to send handmade stationery in an old fashioned air mailer all wrapped in twine?  It has me thinking about fun possibilities for this year's holiday greetings..
Do you have any unique ideas for the holidays this year or wrapping, gifting tips?
And I almost forgot, it's Monday so please say hi and introduce yourself if you haven't already.  We'd love to visit your place!

I also love that type of packaging! I always print my own wrapping paper but this year I am using craft paper for all of them ;)

Every year I have these grand ideas of how to wrap my presents and home made goodies to give...and every year only about 1/4 actually happens. Ugh.

I'm thinking of wrapping my gifts in fabric and twine this year. If I get another batch of concrete planters made and planted, maybe I'll just tie twine with greenery to them. We'll see how much I actually get done.

I found an idea from Martha Stewart to make "bib necklaces" with wood beads. I think I will spray paint the beads in metallics...It looks super cute for all my girl friends. I put the link up, check it out....also Im thinking about cranberry vodka and herbed sea salts. Like Danielle I too usually end up with too many ideas to execute and go into holiday mental overload! I think I will try to focus more this year :)...and I love simple brown paper with jazzed up trimmings.

This time of year is always fun to stretch those creative muscles and send cards and home made gifts. I can't wait to get started.
