A couple of weekends ago my friends and family showered me with so much love and fun. I really wish you all could have been there to celebrate along with us. I am so grateful and still in amazement at the wonderful support that I have. Little one will be here in just a few short weeks and I can still barely process that I am pregnant let alone wrap my mind around the fact that I am about to be a mom! It is truly mind boggling. This is my last week that I am spending on client projects and so I am looking forward to some nesting and resting to prepare (prepare? is that possible?) for the big day.
Thanks to Bianca for the amazing decor at the shower (one of my 4 lovely hostesses) and Alexis and Bethany for the beautiful pics!

I have one valentine and one on the way and I can't believe how much I already love this little guy. It's mind blowing to think how much bigger my heart is going to grow once I see his little face for the first time. I can't wait.

I know, I know. It's been 3 months! Things have been crazy around these parts and all good stuff I must say. Projects have been keeping us on our toes and have been rolling in at a fast and steady pace which is amazing.
BUT, most importantly and definitely way more exciting is that......
I'm having a wee one in May!
Jake and I are thrilled to be expecting our first baby next Spring and it has been glorious to enjoy this time with family and friends and share our excitement and happiness with them. And so I wanted to also share it with you. I will probably post little tidbits about baby Salz-Smith here and there like the fact that we find out tomorrow if it is a boy or girl!!! And perhaps other baby things that I just can't keep to myself.
So now that I have my energy back and have found a good pace, I made a promise to myself to post more regularly and share what's going on design-wise with maybe a little baby thrown in too.
I hope everyone is doing well! I have truly missed participating in blog land and visiting with my fiends here. Talk soon, I promise!! P.S. how funny is this photo? A bit ornery but I like it. : )

Merry Christmas from the country! I hope everyone has a fabulous wek and safe travels. We made it to the Midwest safely and are looking forward to tons of food and family and SNOW! My childhood friend's farm is just up the road and we'll be sure to say hi to the chickens and pigs and even a cow or two.
On a similar note, we are so in the country it took 12 hours to get a signal and post this. :) So I'm signing off for now. Have a great holiday!

OK so first, happy Monday! Why does the year start moving along faster when the holidays hit? It's like Summer then all of a sudden we are eating turkey dinner. It blows my mind. I got some baking to knock out this week and on the agenda: pecan pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes, chocolate something or other .... but it will all be done with love. (mostly).
Yay for the short week too right? Got lots to tackle this week but thoughts of holiday imbibing and stuffing my face makes me happy and thankful and of course the presence of family too. :)
Thanksgiving is such a special time for me and how different it is now that I have my own family and am beginning new traditions. Since my side of the family is back in the Midwest, me and the hubs swap every year between a Thanksgiving visit and a Xmas visit there so every year brings different memories with a different setting. This year we stay in San Diego for turkey day, so a bit warmer Thanksgiving for sure.
What do you have planned?
P.S. share a link to your blog home below!

Happy Friday! I'm in two places at once today. The lovely Ana from Live and Enliven is having me over to talk a bit about why did I start. Blogging that is. And why do I keep doing it? I am so honored and excited to be hanging out over at Ana's blog which is one of my absolute favorites. Ana has become a good friend and the funny thing is we haven't even met face to face yet. I'm sure when we do it will be like catching up with an old friend. Please stop by and send a little "how do you do?" her way.

Also make sure to visit Janell from Isabella & Max Rooms tomorrow to see what her story is all about!

This weekend marked 2 years in my and Jake's adventure. Only a little over 3 years that we've been together yet it's hard to remember my life before him. I guess that means it didn't really start until then. Here's to 70 more...

Spring and wedding season have begun here in southern California and everywhere I look, I am seeing creative wedding photo shoots, artistic flower arrangements, and beautiful tablescapes. It wasn't so long ago that I was in the midst of my own wedding although time does fly. My favorite part of my big day (besides marrying my husband of course) was my beautiful flowers and foliage. We used succulents and driftwood and manzanita for a sweet, casual, outdoor California wedding....
Driftwood centerpiece, my bouquet, crystal detail in manzanita, and chair garland. Florals by Twigs by Teri.
Jake's boutonniere, mother's bouquet, manzanita and crystal table piece all by Twigs by Teri.
