Art Crawl - Rachel Whiteread

I am so excited to check out the Hammer Museum in Santa Monica tomorrow and see the Rachel Whiteread exhibit.  Her sculpture is widely known while her sketches and other works on paper have remained "quiet".  For the first time, her design sketches/design diary will be accompanying her famous sculpture in this amazing exhibit.  "Variegated textures, subtle nuances of tone over colored graph paper, and the play of imagery in collaged constructions are some of the distinctive characteristics of Whiteread's works on paper." via Hammer Museum.  Here is a preview of what awaits me tomorrow....

As you might imagine, we're huge Rachel Whiteread fans. Very fun to see these works on paper. Thanks for sharing.

Hey DG,
The exhibit was amazing. AND inspiring. I have never wanted to run home and experiment with correction fluid as much as I did yesterday after seeing her work. Awesome.
